Website guide
What your website needs, and how the process works
Before you spend anything, it helps to know what a small-business website really needs. This guide walks through the usual pages, what to gather, the optional extras that change the price, and exactly how the RapidWebsite process works.
The pages most small businesses need
- Home
- Say who you help, where, and how to contact you — in the first screen.
- Services
- One clear section per service, with what's included and who it suits.
- About
- Real people and real background build trust faster than slogans.
- Contact
- Phone, email, opening hours and service area. Make calling easy on a phone.
- Proof of work
- Photos of real jobs or genuine reviews — only if you have them. Never stock 'clients'.
Requirements checklist
Gather what you can before you enquire. Missing items can slow the first draft.
Ticks stay on this page only — nothing is saved or sent.
Optional features that change the scope
Online booking
Usually means connecting a booking tool — confirm whether it's included in your quote.
Online shop
Payments, stock and delivery add real scope. Expect a bespoke conversation.
Third-party integrations
Newsletters, CRMs or calendars aren't assumed to be included.
Lots of pages
Exact page allowances depend on the plan and quote — ask before assuming.
How it works, step by step
- 1You send a short enquiry on this site.
- 2The RapidWebsite team reviews what you need.
- 3You receive an agreed quote and a personal checkout link.
- 4You pay the first month to start the subscription.
- 5Your RapidWebsite account is set up and onboarding begins.
Timing: the first draft is estimated at 3–5 working days after your intake is complete and the brand assets and content we need have been supplied. This is an estimate, not a guarantee.
Limits worth knowing
- Monthly development hours (where included) do not roll over.
- Extra development is £55 per hour including VAT.
- The Essential plan covers maintenance and minor text updates, not new development.
- Detailed conditions — cancellation, refunds, hosting and ownership — are in RapidWebsite's service policies.
See RapidWebsite's terms and refund policy.
Questions
Is the website actually free?
No. The website is designed and run as part of a paid monthly subscription. What you avoid is a separate standard setup fee. The initial consultation is free.
Who will build my website?
RapidWebsite. Websites Designed is a Rapid Websites brand; you send your enquiry here, and the quote, payment, account and service are handled by RapidWebsite.
Do I see a design before I pay?
The reported process is enquiry, review, an agreed quote, payment, then onboarding and the first draft. A free draft before payment is not offered here.
How long does it take?
The first draft is estimated at 3–5 working days once your intake is complete and you've supplied the brand assets and content needed. It's an estimate, not a guarantee.
Can I cancel?
The service is a monthly rolling subscription. Cancellation and refund conditions are set out in RapidWebsite's terms and refund policy — please read those before you sign up.
Will this get me to the top of Google?
Nobody can honestly promise rankings. A clear, well-built site helps, but search results depend on many things outside a website's design.
